What better way to ring in Women’s History Month than with our second annual Global Women’s Empowerment Conference?
With the help of Buck-I-SERV and the Multicultural Center here at OSU, we came together to discuss pertinent global women’s issues and how we can have a hand in countering these injustices.
Conference participants could choose 3 of 4 total breakout sessions to attend: Women’s Health, Violence Against Women, Economic Empowerment, and Girls’ Education. We were joined by Madison Eagle, Intercultural Specialist with the MCC’s Women’s Student Initiatives for an interactive introduction and keynote speech. Eagle highlighted in her speech the importance of intersectionality - using our privilege to lift up others. The conference was a great way to start a global dialogue in a local setting!
